The Gene
Stratton Porter State Historic Site is built around the author’s
“cabin in the wildflower woods” where the famous author studied and
wrote inspired by the beautiful setting on Sylvan Lake. Formal gardens
are much like they were when she lived here. A great place to picnic,
enjoy the paths through the gardens and do some birding.
